FOUNDERS PARK CONSERVANCY
Founders Park is a 2-acre park located in the Academy Heights neighborhood of the Village of South Orange, NJ.
The park features a central monument with manicured gardens, a children's playground, and large grass expanses.
Formerly used, during the 19th and early 20th centuries, as the South Orange Cemetery, the site was converted and opened as a memorial park in 1971, Founders Park has been a hidden gem of the Village's many public spaces.

Founders Park Conservancy works to protect and improve the park for today and the future.
Organized as an all volunteer 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization, the Conservancy plants and maintains gardens, sponsors free public events, and advocates for park improvements.
Since 2024 we have operated the Founders Park Community Center, a Village owned facility adjacent to the park, that is available to South Orange residents and NPO's for community events.
